Where it began
A shared feeling became a shared purpose.
The Island Sisterhood began with a group of women who genuinely wanted to create the kind of community they had been searching for themselves: warm, intentional and grounded in real-life connection.
We understood how easy it is to be surrounded by people and still feel socially disconnected. Adult friendship can be complicated by busy schedules, changing seasons of life, unfamiliar neighborhoods and the simple uncertainty of knowing where to begin.

Why we exist
We believe belonging can be thoughtfully built.
We created a place where women can arrive alone without feeling awkward, meet others who are equally open to friendship and move beyond surface-level introductions. The goal is not simply to fill a calendar. It is to create the conditions where familiarity, trust and genuine friendship can grow over time.
That means plans with purpose, communication that is clear and hosts who understand that the smallest gestures, such as a warm greeting, a thoughtful introduction and a well-chosen table, can completely change how a woman experiences a room.

Where we are going
A community women can grow with.
Our vision is a lasting social community for women ages 20–40+ living across New York and New Jersey, including Long Island, NYC and surrounding areas, one that offers everything from a relaxed coffee date to an elegant dinner, a creative afternoon, a wellness morning or a future weekend away.
As the community grows, the heart of it will remain the same: women showing up for one another, trying something new and leaving with more connection than they arrived with.
